If you are taking anything with an electrical plug, chances are that any country you visit will have a completely different plug from the standard American one. Converters are available to buy for pretty cheap at any store that carries any sort of technology, such as Target, Walmart, and Best Buy. Dictionaries and translators are also very helpful things that may improve the quality of your trip. There are countless amounts of apps that will translate words and sentences in most languages, so downloading those before leaving for the trip is crucial. Also learning some words and phrases by heart wouldn't hurt either.

An open mind- last, but definitely not least. If this is something that you are lacking, you might as well not even go on the trip. While traveling internationally, you are emerging yourself in a completely foreign culture, and it is okay to feel slightly overwhelmed. However, keeping an open mind about everything will help you become the traveler you have always wanted to be. It is important for our generation to demonstrate openness to other cultures, so that people from all over the world see their foreign culture as being more appreciated and respected.

Traveling with only essentials is key- bringing countless amounts of jewelry or makeup on a trip is not necessary, since the trip is about exploration, not necessarily looking glam while doing it.
